Celebrate the reopening of the Florence Nightingale Museum

This event has ended

On Thursday 12th May 2022 the Florence Nightingale Museum will be reopening to the public, following it’s covid-enforced closure. As well as offering you the chance to meet our Florence Nightingale throughout the day, at 3pm you can join a talk with Blue Badge Tour Guide and author Julie Chandler who will be sharing fascinating facts from her recent book ‘Florence Nightingale’s London: An A to Z of the Lady with the Lamp’. This talk is included in your admission ticket to the Museum.

Florence Nightingale was the founder of modern nursing, one of our greatest Victorians and a female icon in her own lifetime. Explore the museum to discover all about Florence’s affluent childhood, how she fought to become a nurse, her work during the Crimean War and how she campaigned for better healthcare for ordinary people. See the actual lamp she carried which earned her the nickname The Lady With The Lamp, meet her pet owl and see her medicine chest.
