Dementia-Friendly Health and History Walk of Cally Park

About the Walk

Walking is great for both our mental and physical health. Additionally, time spent in nature has been proven to boost our health. Join us for a gentle walk around Cally Park park with an Islington Guide. This walk especially welcomes those living with dementia and their carers, though anyone is welcome to join (however, please bear in mind that this tour has been developed for people with dementia and may be slower-paced than our regular tours).

Meet us in the Tolpuddle cafe next to the clock tower. We’ll have a cuppa before we set off. We will walk and talk for about an hour and then there will be a chance to play skittles at the end.

About Caledonian Park

The history of Caledonian (Cally) Park and the local area extends beyond the iconic clock tower itself. The park and local area hide many clues to the history of the cattle market and the subsequent “Cally” market, as well as stories of recreation and radicalism which you can explore in this park tour.
